Yesterday my GF and I went to the movies. We went to one of those theaters that have all-day bargain matinees. All movies are either $1 or $2, and on Tuesdays they are either .50¢ or $1. A great price to see any movie. I now watch movies I normally wouldn't see until they came out on cable. What I like about it is you can go to the movies and go out to a restaurant for the same price you would spend at the first-run movie theaters.

I know these bargain theaters aren't as good as the big multiplexes, but I don't mind. I don't mind the smaller screens. I don't mind the inferior sound systems. I don't mind the seats that aren't exactly the most comfortable. I don't mind the stale popcorn or lukewarm bottled waters. Don't you feel a "but" coming right now? Well here it comes, I don't mind all those things, BUT here's what I do mind.

Everytime I been to one of these movies, people have snuck in the movie I was watching, somewhere in the middle of the movie up until the movie is almost over. The ones sneaking in aren't kids or teenagers, they're not even college age. They are over 30. They are rude and inconsiderate. They are either laughing or talking loud drawing attention to themselves, usually bitching on how they can't see where they are walking coming from the light into the dark theater.

I swear my first instinct is to bash their heads in. Why does anyone want to see a movie already half over? The most you are going to pay for a movie here is two dollars! If you want to see it so bad go buy a ticket, you cheap bastards!

People tell me I'm overreacting. That they're not hurting anybody. To me that's not the point. They shouldn't be interrupting people who are watching a movie that they paid to see. Hell they shouldn't be sneaking into any movie, especially if they're over 30. And if you really want to see the movie so bad come back on a Tuesday, you might see it for 50 cents. That's right 50 cents. 50 little cents. I guess some people are just lacking cents.

What do you think? I don't think I'm overeacting, do you?

rude people annoy me no matter where, no matter who. nope you paid they did not.

Well, yes sometimes I do think you overreact to things...like traffic.

However, I do get what you are saying...it IS annoying to be interrupted while trying enjoying the movie. Those two guys that came into the theater yesterday, well, they annoyed me when they were letting that light in from the lobby, and they made it worse by standing there and chatting as if they were at home or something.

On what planet is it ok to sneak into a movie?

You might expect that from teens, but adults should know better.

You have a valid gripe. Not only did they basically "steal" the movie they're watching, but they are ruining the experience for paying customers.

We have a couple of "dollar theaters" here, but the only one that I know the location of is in Honolulu, and it's too much of an ordeal to go, although I'd love not spending $40 to go on a family outing to a movie.

The theater on base is cheap (I think like $3), but they only have one screen so it's sometimes hard to catch the movies you want to see. They're going to be showing Jarhead this Friday, though! Yay!

Same here ... what I love too is when someone is rude to them it's like a huge crime has been committed. The idiots just don't get it.

Awww come on I'm not that bad.

When they first sat behind us I was already thinking, this is not good 'cause I'm going to say something. I'm just glad they moved way up front to annoy other people.

Another thing I seen adults do once was stand by the exit doors, and when people come out hold the door open then sneak inside. How pathetic.

Well I hope you get to go see it. I know what Jake's haircut does to you.

Well, I was going to add a comment, but Texas beat me to it!

But (more on that later) this statement:

Don't you feel a "but" coming right now?

Is called Trudy's Big But!  She was the first one to give a rant on "you are so good and nice and charming - BUT"!  !  You should have read it!

So by Tradition, that is called the Big But!

I've read a LOT of articles where, in replies, the commentor uses the "Big But". HOWEVER, it's NOT "Trudy's Big But"!!

I loved this rant UDigIt!!!

Perhaps a good talking to the manager, AFTER the movie is over might help with
future viewings??? Alert the manager to the problem and even offer to help with
being a "customer that complains" and you might get a couple free tickets!

who knows? It's better, IMHO, to offer up solutions, and help the local business'es than it is
to complain and be frustrated with the situation.

It DID make for a great rant though!!!

Ya know, it's such a good deal the cost to go see the movie, and they're sneaking in?! Wow!

There are one or two movie theatres like that here too but I haven't tired them out yet. But overreacting? It's ok to be annoyed if the person doing it is being really obnoxious and most times they are!

---On topic now, I'd go tell on them, lol. Get 'em kicked out. Yeah, it will further disrupt your movie experience, but the feeling of satisfaction you'll get should more than compensate for that, lol.--

I agree with you ... getting them kicked out would be so satisfying. I would love embarrassing them, too.

I remember Trudy's Big But ... wait a second .. I mean I remember Trudy's blog.

If I remember I think I did comment on it, BUT ....

Thanks, Trudy

Well if it means free tickets I AM talking to the manager.

Great point!

I know it's crazy, isn't it? Well you might not think so if they used the money they saved at your store.

Are you kidding me? 50 cents to two dollars?!?! Seems to me they're sneaking into the wrong movies.
If you're going to go through all the trouble of stealing a movie (which is what they're doing), at least make it worth more than pocket change.

No kidding ... In the city I used to live it cost $9 for first-run movies, and I see more sneaking in here than I did there.

Of course, they could have all change, and not just in my former hometown, but everywhere. After all, movie ticket sales are down.
