Good one, Chris.
Jythier,
Following is a definition of haiku from Dictionary.com:
hai·ku [hahy-koo] Pronunciation Key –noun, plural -ku for 2.
1. a major form of Japanese verse, written in 17 syllables divided into 3 lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables, and employing highly evocative allusions and comparisons, often on the subject of nature or one of the seasons.
2. a poem written in this form.
So in fact, syllables are how these are determined. I'm not trying to be pedantic, just want to point out the facts, is all.

Mark,
Good one, Chris.
Thanks, mate.
BTW ... You taught me a new word. I never knew what
pedantic
meant before. I had to look it up.
Shovel,
Dynamaso the Haiku Nazi!
It almost sounds like a professional wrestler's name.
